For some reason, St. Martin’s Press sent me an extra copy of Gina Barreca’s new collection of essays, It’s Not That I’m Bitter…or How I Learned to Stop Worrying About Visible Panty Lines and Conquered the World. Thank you! There’s no rush, as I have quite a pile of books waiting for me now that I’ve finished with the academic year and have more free time. From the title,anyway, I suspect that this isn’t a book that will work for my just-issued challenge, to read a book I think I won’t agree with.

You’re welcome. I’ll be interested to see what you think. I know a number of people who love this book. But while I find little to outright disagree with, I am having some problems with it. I’ll be reviewing it here in the next couple of days — I’m not quite done with it yet.
