Skeptical of the exorbitant prices of my podiatrist, I’ve been doing what I always do in such situations — conducting internet research on alternatives. Among the most commonly referenced alternative treatments for osteoarthritis of the feet is a home remedy that involves soaking a mess of golden raisins in gin until the gin evaporates and then eating 9 (not 8! not 10!) a day as needed. Hmm. How about a gin and tonic with a raisin garnish instead? I’m pretty sure that would help.
AJ and Ben Franklin boy are still playing. They played all afternoon yesterday, had a sleepover at our house last night, came up to the pool with me this morning where they fenced with pool noodles while I taught a class, then walked to Ben Franklin Boy’s house, where they’ve been playing since shortly after 10 a.m. (it is now past 2 p.m.). Are these boys not sick of each other yet? Apparently not.
I’m appreciating the peace and quiet. There is much to be done. I need to get back to work. It’s likely to be like this for the next several weeks.
However, there is a new post over at AJ’s Clubhouse on recent effects of the economy on gifted ed in Illinois. I’ll give you a hint: it isn’t pretty.
