The 30 songs project

In May-June 2011, I took a meme people were posting on Facebook, and used it as the basis for 30 posts. The meme involved 30 questions about songs, to be answered musically over 30 days. It turned into a sort of memoir through music, and I thought I’d like to keep the posts here in one place. I really enjoyed writing these posts and may do something similar again somewhere down the line.

Here’s the intro I wrote to the project (lightly edited to remove irrelevant content), which I pulled out of a post. The questions below all link to the posts about them.

As anyone who’s ever received a mix CD from me knows, I like to talk about the tunes I am listening to. I try to curb that habit here in hopes of not scaring all my readers away. I reserve the right to stretch it out past 30 days if something more distracting intervenes. In case anyone else would like to join me – and I’d love it if you would; I love hearing about people’s individual takes on what they hear — here are the questions you are to answer for each day:
